About Dr. Elbert Kwak, DDS
Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist
Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Elbert Kwak believes that a visit to the dentist should feel positive—and even a little fun—for both kids and their parents.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, he studied Biology at Emory University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from NYU College of Dentistry. While many dentists begin practicing immediately after dental school, Dr. Kwak chose to continue his training through General Dentistry Residency program. During that time, he provided care for underserved communities in Honolulu, Hawaii—an experience that reflects his commitment to serving others and taking the time to build a strong clinical foundation early in his career.
After beginning his work in family dentistry in Texas, Dr. Kwak felt a clear pull toward working with children. What started as something he naturally enjoyed quickly became a calling—especially caring for kids who may need a little extra patience, understanding, or support. He went on to complete his pediatric specialty training at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City, where he was selected to serve as Chief Resident.
Since returning to Texas, Dr. Kwak has built his practice around a clear vision: to do dentistry differently. He combines evidence-based care with a thoughtful, personalized approach—creating an environment where families feel truly known, never rushed, and confident in the care their children receive. His focus is on quality over volume, taking the time to do what’s right for each child and to partner closely with parents every step of the way.
He’s known for his gentle approach, easygoing nature, and ability to connect with kids in a way that puts them at ease—whether that means taking things slow, explaining everything in a kid-friendly way, or bringing a little lightness into the room. (And yes, sometimes that includes an off-key song or two—often with Buddy nearby!)
Outside the office, Dr. Kwak enjoys spending time with his family and their dogs, Buddy, Astro, and Dolly, and trying out new restaurants and bakeries around town.
